SANTEE - Do you like to climb trees? Along this trail, there is a coastal live oak with branches perfect for climbing. Old oak trees reach their branches toward the ground so they do not fall over when it is windy. As you hike, look up. This valley was once quarry for granite rock that was used to help build San Diego Bay, but today rock climbers enjoy the jagged rocks. Can you spot one? This trial is a loop, but we are going to hike to the river and turn around because it ends with a big hill. (March 2022)
