TEMECULA - Prepare to visit one of the secret sports of SoCal nature lovers! This hike is very, very easy, but the magic that awaits you is very, very special. After you hike across a grassland, you will see what looks like a pond. It’s not! It’s a vernal pool. This area fills with water after rain and then dries up during summer, creating a unique ecosystem that supports everything from western toads to real life fairies--as in fairy shrimp!
